North Brooklyn Runners Code of Conduct

Members Shall

  • Conduct themselves in a manner that will ensure a welcoming, respectful and comfortable Club environment for all.

  • Never make unwanted verbal, sexual or physical contact with others.

  • Refrain from using negative or derogatory language (including the propagation of disparaging rumors or accusations directed at other members or local runners), when interacting with teammates, other running clubs, participants at group runs, races, activities, social events, clinics, seminars, or via the Internet in public forums and social media sites.

  • Respect the age, religion, ethnic background, gender and sexual orientation when interacting with teammates, other running clubs, participants at group runs, races, activities, social events, clinics, seminars, or via the Internet in public forums and social media sites.

  • Behave in a manner that is safe, and does not put themselves or others at risk of physical harm or legal liability

  • Observe and obey all rules and regulations governing races, including those governing the sale or transfer of race bibs, as well as those governing fairness in athletic competition as established by the IAAF, USATF, WADA, and NYRR, including but not limited to the illegal use of performance enhancing substances.

Members are asked to immediately report any inappropriate actions or behaviors, in writing, to a Club officer or Board member.

Membership may be terminated by resignation of a member, or by a majority vote of the Club’s Board of Directors for violations of this Code of Conduct.
